Conventional radio tracking

Overview

GIS-centric telematics solution provide real-time information to enable First Responders to collaborate when response time and safety are paramount. The CompassRespond System is designed as an “Off-the-Grid” solution where there is limited LMR or Cellular wireless communications available. Boone County, NC, Fire Department and CompassCom will present our portable system integrated with Esri ArcGIS maps on a ruggedized laptop customized for areas of operation.  Motorola® APX portable and Mobile radios in simplex “Talk Around” mode provide conventional Land Mobile Radio (LMR) coverage for your mission. When combined with a Motorola PDR8000 portable repeater CompassRespond is now capable of providing GPS tracking support over a larger area of operations. In this configuration the CompassRespond system becomes the ideal “last mile tracking solution” for the “off-the-grid” tactical operations.

To provide enhanced device support for your Team Awareness Kit (TAK) missions, CompassCom is announcing the availability of our “ CompassTAK Connector”.  The TAK Server based solution is dedicated to support the “mission package” that is carried on the smart phones of operations personnel. CompassCom developed our “CompassTAK Connector” to provide the TAK server with the location data and device ID’s of the APX Series LMR. Radios and Broadband vehicle modems that are tracked by our CompassTrac system. The “CompassTAK Connector” now provides the capability to users of the ATAK, ITAK, CivTAK and WinTAK apps to view a common operational picture that displays the location of APX Radios, Smartphones and Broadband modems. Supervisory and Dispatch personnel now can monitor responder/operator location and status on the GUI that best meets their mission requirements.
